The President's Research Fellowships in the Humanities (PRFH) provide salary support to University of California faculty conducting research in the Humanities. The Fellowships are underwritten by an annual grant from the Office of the President and supplemented by one-third matching funds from the campuses.

Using the Application System

- You may save your work and revisit your application as many times as you wish until the application deadline.
- When you have completed your application, be sure to "sign" it and click the "Finish" button.
- Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
What You Will Need*
- Abstract (maximum 200 words)
- Description of Research Proposal (maximum 5 pages, single spaced)
- Bibliographical statement that places the proposed research in intellectual context and indicates the nature of the main sources to be used (maximum one page)
- Résumé or curriculum vitae (CV) (maximum two pages)
- Names and email addresses of 3 persons who will write letters of recommendation

Letters of Recommendation
- Due at application deadline.
- The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the completed reference forms or letters of recommendation are submitted online by the three referees by the submission deadline.
- Be sure to notify your references before entering their information in the application system. They will receive an auto-generated email with instructions for submitting letters of recommendation immediately after you have entered their information in application system.
